Born and raised in the vibrant streets of San Francisco, Luis' culinary destiny was forever entwined with the charm of Sally's restaurant, where freshly baked pastries cast a spell on his senses.
With resolute determination, he pursued his passion through the prestigious San Francisco City College Culinary Program, mastering the art of pastry at Bacar restaurant and Chaya Brasserie. His tenure at Citizen Cake as Pastry Sous Chef kindled a spark of creativity that led to the momentous opening of Orson restaurant as Pastry Chef in 2008. Celebrated by San Francisco magazine and 7x7magazine, he emerged as one of the Bay Area's top pastry virtuosos.
Continuing his culinary odyssey, he showcased his brilliance at Absinthe Brasserie, La Victoria Bakery, China LiveSF, and 8Tables, with the latter receiving accolades from Times magazine. As Director and Pastry Chef of Ozumo restaurant group, Luis' visionary leadership flourished, leaving an indelible impact. Embracing his role as a culinary arts instructor at his alma mater, CCSF Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program, he imparts wisdom to aspiring chefs, shaping the future of gastronomy.
